Usually neodymium magnets are triple coated in nickel-copper-nickel (NiCuNi). This magnet is offered with a fourth coating of gold (NiCuNiAu). Although golden coated magnets are often used due to their special look in some cases it is recommendable to choose this superior grade coating irrespective of its visual apperance.
